The Marmaray Project was planned as part of the general traffic system of Istanbul in 1985, and the Metro Project, which is still under construction, is another important part of this system. The Marmaray Project will form the west / east corridor; The Metro Project will form the north / south corridor on the European side.
In the future and after the completion of the two projects, Yenikapı station will become one of the most important transfer stations on the European side of Istanbul; On the Asian side, Üsküdar station will have the same importance and function as the same. At both stations, there will be transfer facilities required for passengers and pedestrians using bus passengers, ferry passengers, light rail trains (LRT) and tram lines.
