In a written statement made by BTS, it was claimed that Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, Privatization Administration and TCDD have been making efforts since 2004 for the realization of the project known as "Haydarpaşa Port" in and around Haydarpaşa Station. In the statement, it was reminded that many Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) opposed the project by creating a platform and said, "This project does not carry public interest, destroys natural and historical values, it is against the national and universal conservation law of urbanism principles."

It was reminded that the roof of Haydarpaşa Train Station was damaged in the fire that occurred in 2010 and that the main line passenger and freight services were closed on the pretext of high-speed train works, and that a new "trade and tourism center" was tried to be established on the grounds that the station and its surroundings were not needed within the scope of the "Marmaray project". were. Stating that the project aims to create a "rentier area" in the city, the union stated that TCDD decided to write a letter to the Privatization Administration on September 12, 2012, in order to "evaluate the 1 million square meter area in terms of generating income for the institution". It was noted that it was written in 18, and the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality accepted the master development plan for the region on September 2012, 13 with the votes of AKP members.
