Lucchini Announces European Orders

Italy-based long steel producer Lucchini announced that it has received orders for steel rails from new markets as well as its regular customers, and has strengthened its position in the market. According to this, Lucchini officials stated that they received an order of 80 million Euros from Italian Railways, and that the said order indicates that Lucchini maintains its competitiveness against foreign manufacturers.

Lucchini recently announced that it has also received orders from France, England, Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia and Turkey, which meets 70 percent of its railway needs from Lucchini. Lucchini also announced that it will continue to supply Swiss national railways with both standard rail and high-speed rail throughout 2013. The Piombino-based rail manufacturer is expected to be busy with the production of existing orders until the first half of 2013.
