When the 'Humanity Monument' in Kars, which Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan called 'Freak', was destroyed, an investment gesture came from Azerbaijan. The monument, considered the symbol of the Ankara-Yerevan convergence, caused discomfort in Baku. The Haydar Aliyev Foundation, which took action after the monument was destroyed by the decision of Kars City Council, built a fully equipped industrial vocational high school in the region.
The school, designed after December 2011, when the demolition of the statue was completed, was completed in as short as 7 months. The industrial vocational high school built by Azerbaijan for 24.5 million TL will take its first students in the new academic year. It is stated that Aliyev Foundation is also preparing to support Iğdır University. It was stated that some of the faculties affiliated to the university will be built by the Foundation, provided that it is named 'Haydar Aliyev'.
The second big gesture for Kars from Azerbaijan is for the transportation and transportation sector. In this framework, an international logistics center will be established. Azerbaijani officials met with Minister of Economy Zafer Çağlayan last month and submitted a request to establish a logistics base on 30 hectares of land in Kars under the new incentive system. The project, which continues to rent land, is expected to start in the coming months. According to the information received, hundreds of people will be employed in the huge logistics center that Azerbaijan will establish in Kars. Azerbaijani goods to those in need, the logistics center channels here will be imported from Turkey.
NAHÇİVAN Centrum Gemikaya Holding's Eastern Anatolia Coordinator Mustafa Kartal stated that they completed the school in a few months and said that they plan to open the official opening in September. Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Nakhchivan President Vasif Talipov and Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev are expected to attend the opening.
