Üsküdar Ümraniye Çekmeköy Metro Line to be Completed in 38 Months

Kadir Topbaş, Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, said, 'We will complete the 23-kilometer Üsküdar-Ümraniye - Çekmeköy metro line in 38 months, setting a new world record. Kadir Topbaş attended the commissioning ceremony of 100 new buses that joined the IETT fleet in Sultanbeyli.

Celebrating everyone's Eid al-Fitr and the Night of Power, Topbaş explained that Istanbul should be a city where the world is really affected.

Recalling Napoleon's words, "If the world were the only state, the capital would be Istanbul," Topbaş continued as follows: 'There are several newspapers today. One of the three cleanest and most developing cities in the world is called Istanbul. They say it is the second among developing cities in Europe. We see where Istanbul has come. The total investments we have made so far are 52 billion TL. We sold IDO, we spend its money on transportation. To date, total investments related to transportation are 24.3 billion TL, 10 billion TL of which is investments related to metro. We continue, hopefully with the participation of our Prime Minister on August 17 Kadıköy-The Eagle line Kadıköy We will open it in the square. The cost of this metro to us is 3 billion liras. It is the biggest subway investment in the history of the Republic. As a municipality in any city in the world, the metro does not have such an investment, as the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, we do it. It has a capacity to carry up to 1.5 million passengers per hour. '

POND PROJECT IS READY

Topbaş explained that they, as the Metropolitan Municipality, built a municipality building and a cultural center in Sultanbeyli and prepared a recreation area for citizens to breathe in their own districts by implementing the Pond Project of 200 thousand square meters, and said that the total investments they made in Sultanbeyli as a municipality reached 380 million TL.

Stating that 1 million 350 thousand people are traveling by rail system every day in Istanbul, Topbaş emphasized that by 2016, the daily passenger capacity of the subways will increase to 7 million.
After the speeches at the ceremony, Topbaş, who came to the podium with his attendants to cut the ribbon, emphasized that IETT drivers serve under very difficult conditions, and we have 52 thousand employees in Büyükşehir. One of the most difficult jobs is our IETT drivers. For this reason, our drivers should cut the ribbons of the cars they will use themselves.
