The road problem experienced in the Food Bazaar in Yenişehir, Izmir for 30 years was resolved as a result of the land swap between TCDD and Metropolitan Municipality. Binali Yıldırım, the Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communication, and Aziz Kocaoğlu, the Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, announced that the work had started. Stating that the cooperation of the institutions facilitates the lives of the city residents, Minister Yıldırım said, "This was a small but meaningful job."
In order to relieve the entrance and exit of the bazaar, Izmir Metropolitan Municipality and TCDD exchanged lands of approximately 20 decares, each near the bazaar. As a result of the clearing, Izmir Metropolitan Municipality will make the necessary road for the market to the TCDD land, and TCDD will realize the high-speed train project to the land it bought from the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality.
The news of the good news was given by Binali Yıldırım, the Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, who came to İzmir for the opening of the 81st Izmir International Fair, and Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Aziz Kocaoğlu.
Minister Yıldırım, İzmir Governor M. Cahit Kıraç, Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Aziz Kocaoğlu visited the Food Market Management. Speaking during the visit, Minister Yıldırım said that the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality and TCDD agreed to exchange land, and that the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality made the tender for the bridge to be built at the exit of the bazaar. Stating that the cooperation of the institutions facilitates the life of the people living in the city, Minister Yıldırım said:
“This was a small but meaningful job. The transactions have not been completed yet, but despite that, we said we should get to work without waiting and we started the work. Another problem has been solved. Similar work is done in Işıkkent Ayakkabacılar Sitesi. There he took a distance with Izmir Metropolitan Municipality in the study of Highways. Metropolitan countries have problems. There are zoning, new urbanization, infrastructure problems. If the population movement continues to come, and this continues without planning the infrastructure before it is prepared, it becomes difficult to solve these problems. But both central and local governments sincerely strive to handle these jobs. ”
Minister Yıldırım added that the road to the Food Market with the high-speed train line is on the same route, the road corridor will be opened after the exchange, and the high-speed train will be taken underground and will be processed in the zoning plans when the project is completed. Expressing that the tender for the necessary bridge was held on August 14, Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Aziz Kocaoğlu said, “There is no objection yet. I hope it will not and the process will not prolong. When the process is completed, we start construction. On the other hand, we need to use TCDD land as a road. We also need to give our land to TCDD for the high-speed train. We are in agreement. We stayed because there was a delay in the project. Now, with a preliminary protocol, when the permission to pass from TCDD land is given to us depending on the main protocol, our road project is already ready when it is given conditionally. In that road project, we are in a position to complete and open in 45 days with construction site facilities. We make the road before the bridge. The bridge is also used when construction is finished. ”
