Kadir Topbaş, Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, said that Istanbul was completely renovated and Sarıyer got its share from it. Chairman Topbaş said, “We aim to renew Istanbul against earthquakes. We are witnessing the developments of Istanbul. You could not think of a tunnel to Sarıyer.
No one would have dreamed of a metro project from Beşiktaş, also along the coast. The total amount of investments we have made in Sarıyer due to the subways and tunnels is 1 billion 292 million. Thank goodness we have money. Together we will prepare the future of our children. We want to make our children proud of living in this city.”
Stating that they are justified pride of fulfilling their promise 15 months ago, Mayor Topbaş said that Derbent had serious problems but the houses to be built will make everyone smile. Mayor Topbaş continued: “No one will be a victim here. 1600 houses will be distributed. We will distribute the deeds. Derbent will emerge as a modern residential area of Istanbul. The transformation will be carried out in two stages. You will live in places where you can be proud to live with places of worship, school, bazaar. You will be accommodated in residences without earthquake risk and this will be an exemplary study. We did not take a step in the past, but this time we will succeed. ”
