Mecca-Medina high speed train will be launched in January 2014

It has been reported that the High Speed ​​Train Project, which started to be built between Mecca and Medina, will be completed in January 2014 and 3 million passengers will be transported annually in this way.
Transport Minister Jabara Al Seraisry, said in a statement, the project will be completed on time as planned and will be put into service by specifying this way, the holy places will be a great relaxing visit.
Traveling between Mecca and Medina will be completed in 300 hours of 2 hours with the 30 speedometer per hour with the fast train project.
The high-speed train project, which will pass through Jeddah with a total length of 480 kilometers, also has a direct connection between Jeddah King Abdulaziz airport and Medina airport. Thus, it is planned that passengers who will land at both Jeddah and Medina airports will find the fastest way to reach the two holy places Kaaba and Masjid al-Nabawi.
According to statistics, Mecca and Medina are moving at least 3,5 million passengers per year in various ways. After the new project, it is stated that only high speed train can carry more than 3 million passengers.
According to the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Hajj, the number of people who will come to Saudi Arabia for umrah alone is expected to reach 25 million within 11 years. For this purpose, it is known that Saudi Arabia has made billions of dollars of investments in transportation areas such as highways, trains and airlines.
Saudi Arabia is currently completing the railway project between Riyadh and a thousand 200 kilometers, and it is expected that the 7 thousand kilometer railway project in Saudi Arabia will be implemented in time.
Meanwhile, a giant railroad project between Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia is also underway.
