City Center Rails Will Be Better Quality

The contract was signed between the company and the municipality that won the first stage tender of the Sculpture-Garage (T1) tram line projected by the Bursa Metropolitan Municipality. President Recep Altepe, the project to be completed in less than the month of the 10 rail and required technical material orders are given in advance, stating that the first day of the 10 shot will be shot.
The Metropolitan Municipality, which is determined to solve the transportation issue in Bursa with the rail system, has taken a historical step for the city center while continuing to work on the Bursaray Kestel line. The Metropolitan Municipality, which implemented the first application of the urban tram lines between Cumhuriyet Caddesi and Davutkadı, came to the application process on the sculpture-Garaj (T1) tram line, which is the first of the main lines, with the increasing interest of the citizens in the application. A contract was signed between the Metropolitan Municipality and the Spanish company Comsa SA, which made the most favorable offer with 6,5 million TL in the tender held on June 25 for the approximately 18-kilometer line.
Speaking at the signing ceremony held in Burulaş, Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Recep Altepe stated that they promised that they would knit Bursa with iron nets before the elections and that the city would be brought together with modern and uninterrupted transportation from Yıldırım to Nilüfer, and said that they are proud of keeping this promise. Reminding that they will bring the 25-kilometer line to Bursa with the sculpture-Garaj tram line, the contract of which has been signed, President Altepe gave the good news that this project is a start and that works on the terminal line will be started in the near future. Stating that the project works on Kanalboyu, the terminal and the old Yalova road lines, which are planned to be integrated with the Sculpture-Garage line, are ongoing, President Altepe said that if they go at this pace, they can start the work on the terminal line.
Stadyum Caddesi- Altıparmak Caddesi- Atatürk Caddesi- Heykel- İnönü Caddesi-Kıbrıs Şehitleri Caddesi- Kent Square- Darmstad Street route is a problematic area in terms of traffic density, Mayor Altepe emphasized that the works will be completed in a short time and that the citizens and drivers will not be faced with much trouble. Reminding that they have done all the necessary work in advance to complete the project with a contract term of 1 year in less than 10 months, President Altepe said, “We had already placed orders for the rails and necessary technical materials. The rails are coming next week, and we will hit the first dig in 10 days. Because, for example, when we enter Altıparmak Caddesi, we must lay the rails immediately and leave before 40 days. “It is not possible to block the road during the study anyway”.
Mayor Altepe stated that it was not possible to expand the streets through which the line passed, and that the streets used by the city with a population of 150 thousand in the past were insufficient for 2 million people, and that the solution was impossible with rubber wheeled vehicles. Noting that the tram carries about 250 people and that the tram corresponds to 2 vehicles carrying 100 people, Mayor Altepe said, “In other words, entering a tram on that street means 100 vehicles moving away from that street. This is how all modern cities in Europe solved transportation. We are still discussing what Europe did 80 years and 100 years ago by asking whether it will be possible. Naturally, parking lots will disappear on the route where the line passes and the streets will have a modern look. We will also solve the parking problem on these streets with the Ringo parks we developed. We will be able to park vehicles lined up along a street on a 100 square meter plot. At the same time, besides the rail flooring, pavement and facade arrangement works will be done on the route. The city center will be purified from vehicle noise and the smell of exhaust gas. "Quality will come to the city," he said.

Pedro Miguel Rivero Moya, the Contract Director of the Spanish Comsa SA company, stressed that he has been one of the largest in Spain and Europe in the field of companies working exclusively on railways for more than 100 years. Pedro Miguel Rivero Moya, who stated that they made the tram lines of cities such as Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia, Bilbao, Malaga, Lisbon, Porta, said that they would transfer their experiences to Bursa for more than a century.
After the speeches at the ceremony attended by Seyfettin Avşar, Deputy Secretary General of Metropolitan Municipality and Levent Fidansoy, General Manager of Burulaş, a contract was signed between Metropolitan Municipality Recep Altepe and Comsa SA Contract Director Pedro Miguel Rivero Moya.
