İZBAN and Havran Train

The importance of railways, which is a sub-sector of the transportation sector, is increasing day by day. From this point of view, a well-organized railway system that has been structured according to the requirements of the era accelerates the economic development.

The history of the railroad in the Ottoman territory, the 1851 km of the Cairo-Alexandria railway line in 211, the date of the railways in the national borders of the 23 1856 130 24 1872 in the year of the privilege of the Izmir-Aydin Railway line starts. Ottoman Railways was governed by the Turuk and Meabir (Road and Construction) Department of the Ministry of Public Works for a time. XNUMX In September XNUMX, the Railways Administration was established to realize the construction and operation of the railway.

The 4.136 km section of the Ottoman period remained within our national borders. 2.404 kilometers of these lines of foreign companies, the 1.377 kilometer was operated by the state.
After the establishment of the Republic and the decision to nationalize the railways, the "Anatolian-Baghdad Railways Directorate General" was established under the Ministry of Public Works (Ministry of Public Works) with the Law No. 24 of 1924 May 506 for railway management. As the first independent management unit in the field of railways, in order to ensure that the construction and operation of railways are carried out together, the "General Administration of State Railways and Ports" was established with the Law No. The General Directorate of State Railways and Ports Administration was attached to the Ministry of Transportation (Ministry of Transportation), which was established on 31 May 1927.

The lines built before the Republic and operated by foreign companies were bought and nationalized between 1928-1948. Our organization, which was managed as a state administration with an annexed budget until 22 July 1953, under the name of "Turkish Republic State Railways Administration (TCDD)" under the Law No. 6186 enacted on this date, as İktisSon, with the Decree Law No. TCDD, which has received the identity of "Public Economic Institution" and has three subsidiaries, namely TÜLOMSAŞ, TÜDEMSAŞ and TÜVASAŞ, still continues its activities as the relevant institution of the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications. was transformed into an ordinary State Entity.

TCDD, which has been operating a railway on these lands for 155 years, has unfortunately rapidly consumed its 155 years of experience, especially in recent years. Organisation; Due to the shortage of trained personnel, lack of investment, and the use of resources in the wrong place, it was almost caught in a pinch. Due to the inadequacy of the investment appropriations and even the inability to spend the allocated appropriations and the investments not being made on time, the speed has slowed down, and more importantly, the traffic safety has been seriously damaged.

XIX from the foundation of the Ottoman Empire. In the period until the 62th century, the place where the Balya was located was called the “Kocagümüş Village”. In the Ottoman period, the Bale Mine (Kocagümüş Mine) was famous for making a shot put in history. While the transportation of the mine, which was unearthed in the first times, was done by camels, mules and cars, it is known that a narrow line of 60 km long and 200 cm wide was built from Balya to Palamutluk. The mines, which were transported with decoovils drawn with animals up to the region, were transported from here to Akçay pier by car. Then, in order to accelerate the transportation, the construction of the railway from Palamutluk to Akçay pier was carried out by the French-owned “Balya Kara Aydın Company” and XIX. France was the most prominent state in railway construction in Ottoman lands in the 1800th century. The French, who established a XNUMX km railway network during the mine operation period, extended this route to the Dardanelles, which was also the first railway in Anatolia. The mines, which were previously moved to Bandırma via Gönen and loaded onto ships, were transported to the ports by using Akçay and Edremit roads in the XNUMXs. In addition, it is understood that the exported mine was moved to Istanbul from Bandırma pier according to some documents.

It was started to be built on May 1, 1923 by the “Balya Kara Aydın Company” owned by the French on May 75, 28 to transport the silvery course mines extracted from Balya from Palamutluk to Akçay and shipped the mine to Palamutluk. The 1 km long railway between Ilıca and Palamutluk was completed on 1924 November XNUMX and put into operation.
The decouvile line, built in 1884 from Palamutluk to Balya, is 62 km long and 60 cm long. Wide. The line was closed in October 1950 and its liquidation was completed until 1959.

İZBAN is a project that belongs to Izmir, the city of the firsts, with its rail-standard rail transportation on the 80 km suburban line from Aliağa to Cumaovası in Izmir, which started to operate on the route of the first railway line laid in Anatolia. Izmir Metropolitan Republic of Turkey State Railways of the municipality (TCDD) Metro established with 50-50 partnership "Long Road Retaliation" of İZBAN, giving the hands of the central government and local administrations a terms of being the first project carried out in Turkey, "Tolerance and Reconciliation Project ”. İZBAN, which commissioned the first operation without passengers on October 29, 2010, started the pre-passenger operation between Çiğli-Cumaovası on December 05, 2010 and Aliağa-Cumaovası on January 30, 2011.
This line suddenly changed the environment of Izmir. The owners of the companies that carry passengers in the Aliağa-Cumaovası section learned how much the passenger is worth with the price. The traffic of Izmir has been relieved. Every person who comes in front of him does not get up from Aliağa or Cumaovası by himself anymore, leave him in Dikili Bergama Kınık, that is, our citizens in the north of İzmir leave their vehicles at Aliağa İzban station and go to İzmir by giving 1.75 TL. This behavior makes a great contribution to both their own budgets and the national economy. it is pineapple. Especially before İZBAN, when we look at the statistics of traffic accidents on Aliağa - İzmir Çanakkalle Road, it will be understood how important Rail Public Transportation is.

In the dream of Atatürk, who knew very well that "Railway means civilization and wealth" after the Republic, he realized his desire to knit all parts of the country with "Iron Nets" as well as his revolutions. In the 1930s, which is a project of Atatürk's dream, with the railway project connected to “Balıkesir- Balya - Edremit and Aliağa”, the railway project that goes up to Balya-Havran-Edremit and Ilıca. The railway line will be improved, but Balıkesir will be connected to İzmir via Edremit Aliağa on the other hand. However, a project of this railway line ended when it was shelved in the 75s. If this project is implemented, a great economic and touristic wound will be provided for our country.

Refining and filling facilities in Aliağa, Iron and steel factories, Çandarlı Port, Ship dismantling facilities, cargo departures and arrivals will be comfortable and the products here will be transported to other places of our country with ease. Burhaniye, Zeytinli, Akçay, Altınoluk, Candarlı Ayvalık, Edremit, Küçükuyu, Dikili, Bergama will pave the way for the districts and districts of the region in terms of tourism, and will lead to a tourism boom in the districts and towns. Tourism professionals, industrialists, businessmen, tradesmen and citizens want this project to be implemented as soon as possible, but there are many difficulties ahead. Transportation of touristic places will be more comfortable and safe. In addition, the number of Traffic Accidents in the North Aegean will decrease. In short, there will be a decrease in energy saving, traffic accidents, number of injured and dead and air pollution with İzmir Edremit train railway.
