Railway Connection Added to ARDEP Mersin Warehouse

ARDEP has included the railway line, which it calls the “Tırmıl” project, in the terminal area in Mersin. In this way, the cargoes transported from Anatolia to Mersin Port by wagon can be taken directly to ARDEP's warehouse.

ARDEP, which provides warehousing services within Arkas, created a special railway line called “Tırmıl” in Mersin terminal area, making the Turkish railway network directly connected with its warehouse. In this way, it reached the capacity to operate 40 wagons at the same time. The TIRMIL line provides ARDEP and its customers with ease of operation, cost advantage and time savings.

ARDEP can transport the goods of its customers from the factory site or quarries to the warehouse area by wagon, store them and load them in containers and send them to the port. In addition, import containers discharged from the ship can be transported to the warehouse by wagon, where they are unloaded, stored and, if desired, loaded on the wagon again and delivered to the customer. This service offers a significantly advantageous price for traders dealing with the export and import of iron ore used in mining, marble and energy projects in the region. The warehouse, which has a total area of 100 thousand square meters and a distance of 4 kilometers from the port, has a storage capacity of 10 thousand TEU. At the same time, 150 thousand tons of mineral, marble or iron ore derivative products can be stored.
