With a ceremony organized by the French Railways (RFF) on 30 July 2012, the construction of the 182 km Bretagne-Pays de la Loire high-speed train line was started.
The ceremony was attended by Defense Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, the mayors of the two regions, the Director of French railways Hubert du Mesnil and the general manager of the Eiffage company, Mr. Pierre Berger.
The project, which is estimated to cost 3.3 billion Euros, will be financed by the joint venture of French Railways RFF and Eiffage Rail Express companies, semi-private and semi-public.
