The Avcılar-Zincirlikuyu route, which has 38 minutes when the Metrobus was put into service, was extended to 4 hours after 1 years.
We traveled from Avcılar to Zincirlikuyu by Metrobus. The journey time from 4 minutes 38 years ago is now 1 hour. Those who ride at the first stop are lucky, because they can sit, but those who come later have to afford a packed trip.
4 LONG ON THE 22 IN THE YEAR
Metrobus had breathed traffic in Istanbul, which became more and more attractive every day when it came into operation 4 years ago. At that time, I had the opportunity to test the metrobus, which set off with the claim of covering the distance of 30 km between Avcılar and Zincirlikuyu in 38 minutes. Indeed, it was pleasing to see that the distance traveled by car in 1 hour was covered in 40 minutes. Then, when the Söğütlüçeşme line was added, it was possible to reach Söğütlüçeşme from Avcılar in 1 hour 30 minutes. I tried the metrobus, which frequently reports to newspaper pages due to congestion or malfunction, after 4 years.
THE SHELTER IS RISING
When our hours showed at 7.30, when we reached Avcılar with my photojournalist friend Ozan Köse, we encountered a flood of people. You know, there is action or a walk, or the continental continents flock to the official parades. But how crowded! Those who reach Avcılar from different points by minibus or buses first use the overpass to reach the buses across the road. Here there is such a crowd that the passage is shaking.
NO STEP THROUGH PLACE
Those who get off the gate are turning to buses. Buses at the main station are buzzing. 30 bus departs in about 1 seconds. When the seats are full, buses move because passengers who do not want to go standing do not get on the bus and wait for the next bus. When the metrobus, which we got from Avcılar at 7.50 am, there was a very spacious atmosphere inside. The number of passengers standing was very low. Air conditioners are working, those who settle in their seats have already started to sleep. However, this comfort did not last long. When you say Küçükçekmece, Yenibosna, Şirinevler, the metrobus starts to fill with those who take it at every stop. When we reach Bahçelievler after about 20 minutes, there is no more place to step in the bus. The people sitting are comfortable, but the feet are face-down. Because it is not even possible to move. Even if somebody is down, he looks at him if I sit down, but nobody has any intention of landing. When our hours showed 8.50, we were able to reach Zincirlikuyu. It was tiring to be standing for 1 hour. As I got off the bus, I noticed that my waist hurts.
We got off the bus in Zincirlikuyu. Now our direction is Söğütlüçeşme. Before we got on the bus, we sat at Beltur's buffet and took a break. There were a few tables and chairs to sit around the kiosk where tea, coffee, and newspapers were sold, but it would not be wrong to say that the makeshift environment was dismal and neglected. After a short breath, we headed towards Söğütlüçeşme. The bus was still crowded, although not as much as in the other section. Fortunately, the journey ended in the blink of an eye, in 15 minutes.
