Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ibrahim Karaosmanoğlu and Kocaeli Governor Ercan Topaca met with TCDD officials at the meeting where rail transit demands were evaluated.

Speaking at the opening of the meeting, Governor Topaca pointed out that the needs of Kocaeli have increased with the development. Pointing out that new ones should be added to the existing underpasses on the railway line, Governor Topaca stated that this need could also be met by taking advantage of the stop of the train services. The mayors who attended the meeting also expressed the need for underpass and overpass on the railway line passing through the boundaries of the district.
In the meeting which was held in the form of mutual exchanges, it was decided to determine the priority areas at the lower and upper crossings and to go through it. TCDD officials, after determining the demand for the necessary studies will be done at the point of evaluation said.
