New 100 bus to Izmir

The protocol regarding the 100 buses to be purchased by İZULAŞ AŞ, one of the companies of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, from Otokar was signed with a ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Aziz Kocaoglu, the transportation of the targets and surely metro, suburban and tram rail system investments, such as the weight and sea transportation to use more intensively, he said.

President Aziz Kocaoğlu stated that ESHOT carries 1400 thousand passengers a day with 860 buses, 400 thousand passengers with 200 buses in İZULAŞ, and the daily passenger number, which is 180 thousand in the Metro and 155 thousand in İZBAN, is increasing day by day. . Mayor Kocaoğlu added that the number of passengers in İZBAN may increase to 300 thousand with the participation of new drivers and some arrangements to be made with TCDD, and they expect the current number to reach 350 thousand with the line reaching Üçkuyular in the subway.
SHIP TENDER OK
Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Aziz Kocaoğlu gave the good news that the tender for 15 new generation gulf ships that they are planning to buy has been completed and the contract phase has been reached. Explaining that the tender was won by a local company from Yalova, Mayor Kocaoğlu said, “Our ships will be commissioned in batches starting from 550 days. Good luck to both our city and our ship industry. ” said.
Expressing that the number of passengers per day in the Gulf is around 35 thousand, Mayor Kocaoğlu stated that this number will be increased much more by increasing the number of wharves and trips.
OLD BUS WILL NOT BE LEFT
Reminding that there were only 12 disabled buses in the transportation fleet when he started to work eight years ago, Kocaoğlu said, “Today, 70 percent of our fleet consists of disabled buses. We bought 150 new buses to ESHOT. We will buy 300 more. 200 buses will be purchased by the end of the year in İZULAŞ. We are purchasing buses that can be used by new generation, low carbon emissions, environmentally friendly, air conditioned and disabled citizens. In a short time, there will be no old buses in our fleet. ” he spoke.

Otokar General Manager Serdar Görgüç stated that they closely follow all the activities of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality in recent years. Görgüç said, “Roads and transportation demands are very important for İzmir to become a good and livable city. Emphasizing that the buses that received many awards are appreciated with their environmental features and are used in four different countries of Europe, Görgüç said, “We look forward to putting our long-lasting, low operating cost vehicles into service as soon as possible.” he spoke.
At the end of the ceremony, Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Aziz Kocaoğlu and Otokar General Manager Serdar Görgüç signed the purchase contract together. General Manager Görgüç presented a model of the buses to be produced for the Metropolitan Municipality to Mayor Kocaoğlu.

'Kent' series buses, which will be produced by Otokar for İzmir, will be suitable for disabled riding with their low floor.
