TCDD General Manager Süleyman Karaman said, "MARMARAY and Kars-Tbilisi-Baku projects will be completed at the end of 2013 in order to provide uninterrupted service from our country, which is a bridge between Europe and Asia and the Middle East countries."
Karaman, in the 1st Meeting of the Railway Organizations of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) with the participation of the railway authorities, stated that there is cooperation in many fields such as economy, finance, trade, tourism, industry, construction among the member countries of the organization, He also said it took a long time to add the railway sector.
Reminding that he started regular flights to Istanbul-Almata on 20 January 2002 and Istanbul-Islamabad container train on 2 August 2010, Karaman emphasized that the container trains running on both tracks did not reach the desired level.

With the completion of the Marmaray Project, which is the first in the world with the feature of connecting two continents under the sea, and realizing these connections, we will provide direct rail connections from China and the Middle East to Europe. ”
The ECO meeting, attended by senior officials from Azerbaijan, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, will continue tomorrow.
