High Speed ​​​​Train (YHT) Eskişehir turned the route to İzmir after Konya. When the project is realized, the distance between the two cities will decrease from 8-10 hours to 3 and a half hours. The first step was taken for the YHT between İzmir and Ankara. The tender for the Ankara-Afyonkarahisar section, the first phase of the line, has been concluded. The contract for the construction of the line was also signed. While the work continues for the second phase of the project, it is aimed to complete the construction of the line as soon as possible.

Ankara-Afyonkarahisar, Afyonkarahisar-Usak and Usak-Manisa-Izmir stages, including the 3 stage of the Ankara-Izmir YHT Project is planned to be transported annually 6 million passengers with YHT.
With the project of total length of 624 kilometers, the travel time between Ankara and Izmir falls to 3 hour 30 minutes. Bus from Ankara to Izmir takes 8-10 hour. Citizens with the project at least 5 hours are gaining time.

With the completion of the Ankara-Afyonkarahisar section of the YHT line, the transportation time between Afyonkarahisar and Ankara falls to 1 hour 30 minutes.
