The contract for the infrastructure construction of the Ankara-Afyonkarahisar phase of the Ankara-Izmir High Speed ​​Train Project will be made on June 11.

Ankara-Izmir High-Speed ​​Train Project's Ankara-Afyonkarahisar stage of the infrastructure construction contract signing ceremony, Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications Binali Yildirim and the Minister of Forestry and Water Affairs Veysel Eroglu with the participation of 11 will be held in June at the General Directorate of TCDD.
According to the statement made by TCDD, Ankara-İzmir YHT Project consists of Ankara- (Polatlı) - Afyonkarahisar, Afyonkarahisar-Uşak and Uşak-Manisa-İzmir stages. With the project, the total project value of which is 3 billion 567 million TL and provided by the equity, it is aimed to transport 6 million passengers per year. With the project with a total length of 624 km, the travel time between Ankara and Izmir will be 3 hours 30 minutes. The Ankara (Polatlı) -Afyonkarahisar section, on which the contract for the infrastructure construction will be signed, is 167 km, and will depart from the 120th km of the Ankara-Konya road, which is the current YHT line, and the travel time between Ankara-Afyonkarahisar will decrease to 1 hour 30 minutes.
