Russia wants to participate in the railway construction project in Turkey

Russian Railways Administration RJD, announced that they want to participate in rail infrastructure projects in Turkey. In the official statement made by the institution, it was noted that there was an interest in other railway infrastructure works, including the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line.
The statement, "We are reviewing the possibility of participating in rail infrastructure projects in Turkey. These are the corridor construction projects planned from Istanbul to Georgia over Azerbaijan, Georgia and Iran.
The statement stated that the Russian Railways Administration is preparing to participate in the railway construction project of about 2 billion dollars planned in the United Arab Emirates, as well as the construction of the metro lines in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
RJD, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Eastern Europe, Africa and the Persian Gulf region countries are the leading regions for them, he said.
Giving an example that they have been involved in some projects in Iran and Serbia, RJD said, “Revenues from modernization and construction projects in the railway field abroad are considered as one of the important sources in financing investment programs in Russia”.
