100 bus-related protocols to be purchased by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality companies İZULAŞ from Otokar were signed with a ceremony.
According to the statement made by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, a protocol signing ceremony was held at the historical Air Gas Factory for 100 buses to be purchased by Otokar from İZULAŞ.
Metropolitan Mayor Aziz Kocaoglu, in his speech at the protocol signing ceremony, the objectives of the transportation, such as metro, suburban and tramway rail system investments, such as the emphasis on electricity and sea transportation more intense use, he said.
He said that they use a large part of the investment opportunities in this direction and that they aim to carry the people of Izmir comfortably, quickly and safely. Thus, he said that they could minimize the transportation subsidies, which became a big burden for all municipalities.
Kocaoğlu noted that the number of passengers in İZBAN increases by the fact that ESHOT in the public transportation area carries 400 thousand passengers a day with 860 buses, İZULAŞ 400 thousand passengers with 200 buses, 180 thousand in the subway and 155 thousand in İZBAN every day. He stated that with the participation of new trucks and some arrangements to be made with TCDD, they can increase to 300 thousand, and they expect the current number to reach 350 thousand with the line reaching Üçkuyular in the subway.
Kocaoğlu also informed that the tender for 15 new generation gulf ships that they are planning to buy has been completed and that the contract has come to the stage, “Our ships will start in parties starting from 550 days. Good luck to both our city and our ship industry. ”

We will buy 300 more. 200 buses will be purchased by the end of the year in İZULAŞ. We are purchasing buses that are new generation, low in carbon emissions, environmentally friendly, air conditioned and can be used by disabled citizens. "There will be no old buses in our fleet in a short time," he said.
Otokar General Manager Serdar Görgüç said that their buses, which received many awards, were appreciated with their environmentally friendly features and said, “We look forward to putting our long-lasting, low operating cost vehicles into service immediately.”
After the speeches, the Mayor Aziz Kocaoğlu and Otokar General Manager Serdar Görgüç signed a contract for the purchase of 100 buses.
General manager Görgüç also presented a model of the buses to be produced to President Kocaoğlu at the signing ceremony.
It has been reported that the 12-meter-long Otokar “Kent Series” buses, which will be suitable for disabled riding with their low floor, have air conditioning, digital neighborhood sign, environmentally friendly engine and reversing camera.
