In the rehabilitation and signaling project of Irmak-Karabük-Zonguldak Railway, which has a total cost of € 227.216.605 and is funded by EU IPA funds of € 194.469.209, Ülkü-Karabük-Zonguldak stage will be constructed in which train traffic is intense. The total duration of the project, which is 48 month, will be completed in 24 month and the Project will be realized by Yapı Merkezi and MÖN Construction Joint Venture.
Environmentally friendly EU-standard project
With the modernization of the existing railway line, the project aims to increase operational security and reduce travel time.
All lines will be renewed with 49E1 rail,
Tunnels and bridges will be overhauled.
The 253 level crossing will be equipped with automatic barrier protection system / flasher. In some places lower and overpasses will be built.
Passenger platforms, passenger information and announcement system to be made accessible for disabled people will be established,
Road extensions will be made at Çankırı, Karabük, Ülkü, Balıkısık and Yeşilyenice stations,
The European Train Traffic Safety Management System (ERTMS) and the European Train Control System (ETCS) Level 120 Signaling and Telecommunication System will be installed in the center of Karabük.
Certification of the line will be provided by the International Certification Agency.
The construction work of the project will be carried out with sensitivity to the environment.
