The City of Vienna authorities decided to extend the U1 line to Oberlaa so that the Metro line could serve more influence in the south instead of Rothneusiedl.
While the decision was announced on March 21, it was announced that the project could be completed by the end of 600 for 2017 million Euros. The construction of the line is expected to begin this year.
