The Ukrainian Railways restructuring plan is planned to be implemented by the Ukrainian government at the end of the year. A restructuring plan of Ukrainian Railways was approved by President Viktor Yanukovych in line with the March plans.
The National Railway company UZ will be 100% state owned. Affiliated companies will be responsible for infrastructure management, transport operations, long-distance and international passenger trains, suburban and regional passenger trains, traction services, railway repair, research and infrastructure maintenance.
