Tramway construction works start on new lines in Eskişehir

It is stated that the project of Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality, which will extend the existing tram system to three new regions, will start simultaneously.

Gülermak - YDA joint venture, which was the contractor of the project after the site delivery on January 20, 2012, completed the works that should be carried out primarily such as mobilization (construction site installation), material supply, project control and land measurements related to the tramline extension project. Within the scope of the project, tramway construction works will be started soon.

In the additional line works that will be carried out simultaneously on all three lines, first, on April 16, the Batıkent - Çamlıca line will be digged. Then, road construction works of Yenikent - Çankaya line will be started on April 17, and Emek - 25 Evler lines on April 71.

A number of decisions were taken regarding the infrastructure and traffic arrangements in the regions to be studied with the participation of relevant institutions such as AYKOME and UKOME. With the UKOME decision, the strip of Gündüz Ökçün Caddesi on the Batıkent - Çamlıca line to the National Sovereignty Boulevard will be closed to traffic starting Monday, April 16. In Yenikent - Çankaya line, Şehit Subutay Alkan Caddesi will be closed to traffic on Tuesday, April 17. On the Emek - 71 Evler line, certain sections of Ertaş Street will be closed to vehicle traffic starting Wednesday, April 25.
