A meeting was held in Şanlıurfa regarding the railway route and logistics center to be built within the scope of the GAP Action Plan.
According to the press office of the Governor's Office, experts from the General Directorate of Railways under the chairmanship of the Governor Celalettin Güvenç attended the meeting.
Governor Güvenç, whose views were included in the statement, stated that the connection of Şanlıurfa to the Mürşitpınar Railway within the scope of the GAP Action Plan on the order of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is on the agenda.
Stating that they also planned to establish a logistics center in the Organized Industrial Zone through the Karacadağ Development Agency, Güvenç said: “We discussed where we are, what we need to do at the meeting. The subject that will make the people of Urfa happy is that the railways put a total of 200 million TL in the 2012 investment program for the connection of Mürşitpınar - Şanlıurfa, University (Harran University Osmanbey Campus) - Airport. We still have 200 million TL worth of money that can be used. "
Stating that bids were also received for the tender of the projects of the Mürşitpınar - Şanlıurfa connection project, Governor Güvenç stated that the project should be divided into 2 - 3 stages and the connection to Mürşitpınar Organized Industry should be made.
