RZD will initiate tests on 12.600-ton trains. The decision was made by the RZD Science and Technical Council. The project will save approximately 15.5 Billion (EUR 400 Million) RUBLE. The program will cover modernization and training of operating personnel, signaling, phased infrastructure improvement plans.
OAO, a comprehensive program for investment projects, will be submitted to the RZD Expert Board by 1 November. RZD will introduce suggestions for increased freight wagon operation on July 1.
