Musiad Konya Wants to Meet Expectations in Logistics

MUSIAD Konya Branch Logistics Committee continues its work on Logistics Center at full speed.

MUSIAD Konya Branch President Aslan Korkmaz stated that the Logistics Committee has reached an important point in his work and said MÜ The Logistics Committee has carried out many important activities in the field of logistics to this day. Turkey Consultation Meeting Logistics, Logistics Committee Meeting bringing together partners to exchange ideas with their counterparts of the subject was a pioneer realization. In addition, public and private companies working in the logistics sector in Konya also took an active part in our committee's work. Bun Korkmaz stated that the establishment of the Logistics Center would be a turning point for the Konya industry., In the year 2011 our city realized an important export rate of 1,2 billion dollars. This was an indication that Konya industry could increase its exports to more advanced capacities. However, the fact that the Mersin railway line, which provides the port connection of Konya, is bi-directional and that the Logistics Center is in operation will be an important turning point in achieving more advanced figures in our export rate, Ancak he said.

President Korkmaz, who also presented his suggestions about the Logistics Center, said: “Regardless of your product, on average, approximately 10 percent of its cost is logistics costs. Approximately 50-60 percent of this is shipping costs; 30-35 percent storage and inventory costs; 5-10 percent consists of management and information costs. However, the cost of logistics is not only composed of these items. If we want to have a more profitable business, we need to produce faster with less stock, deliver the product to the customer quickly and collect the product price. The faster we do this, the more profitable and efficient we will work. On the other hand, a statement was made in March that the tender of Konya Logistics Center, which was included in the 2012 investment program, will be made within 1 month. Our expectation is that this process will be completed as soon as possible and start the construction phase. In order to connect Konya Logistics Center to the Mediterranean and Mersin Port quickly and effectively, the necessary initiatives should be taken and accelerated for the implementation of the double-line, signalized, high operating speed infrastructure project on the existing route of the Konya-Mersin railway line. Long-term expansion possibilities should be evaluated. In the current structuring of TCDD, Konya is affiliated to Adana Regional Directorate. Some of Konya railways are affiliated to Afyonkarahisar Regional Directorate. Adana's approval is awaited in order to be able to decide on the solution of minor problems in Konya. TCDD Konya Regional Directorate should be established urgently in order to solve the problems in Konya locally and to take initiative in the necessary investment decisions. The presence, workload and future projection of Ankara - Konya YHT, which is still in operation, also support this idea. I would like to mention here an important good news for our city. Our Metropolitan Municipality, Chamber of Industry, Chamber of Commerce, Trade Exchange, KOP Administration, MEVKA and MUSIAD We are launching Konya Logistics Platform with the participation of the presidents of non-governmental organizations such as ".
