Deutsche Bahn Signs Bombardier, Alstom and Stadler for EMU

Deutsche Bahn (DB) announced an order on April 2014 for Regio EMUs to be used on the Nordrhein-Westfalen line from 3. Stadler will supply the four-section 75 Flirt RE14 for the Münster – Essen – Mönchengladbach line at a cost of 42 million euros. Alstom will supply 140 three-section Coradia Continental units for the Rhein-Ruhr line from Hagen to Dortmund and Mönchengladbach at a cost of 28 million euros.

Deutsche Bahn announced on March 30 that it has reached an agreement with Bombardier for 16 four-car Twindexx double-decker EMUs for 160 million euros. These vehicles will serve for the line from Hamburg to Kiel and Flensburg as of 2014.
