"Ankara will have one of Turkey's most original rail systems"
In his statement, TCDD General Manager Süleyman Karaman said that Başkentray is not an ordinary suburban project, but is the backbone of the rail system on the east-west axis of Ankara.
Ankara-Eskişehir and Ankara-Konya YHT projects have been implemented, Ankara-Sivas YHT line is continuing reminding Karaman, said:
“We connect our capital to the east and west with YHT. Both suburban, outline and YHT operations were not sustainable with the existing railway. For this, within the scope of the project, we distinguish suburban, outline and YHT transportation lines. We increase the lines to 4 in some places, 5 in some places, and 6 in some places.
There will be no level crossings on the route. We arrange the art structures and bridges accordingly. Connection to the Metro and Ankaray will be provided by the escalators from Ankara Station and Sıhhiye.
A short time later Turkey will have one of Ankara's most original rail system. Of course, we know that our passengers using suburban trains have a short period of trouble. However, when they are put into operation, they will see that it is worth it. Good luck to Ankara. ”
