BALO will carry its first load in 2013

The company, which will be promoted in Izmir with the meeting to be attended by Transportation Minister Binali Yıldırım and TOBB President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu this month, will carry 100 thousand containers per year. How will the system work?
The loads of organized industry and other production regions in cities such as Kayseri, Gaziantep, Konya will be collected in containers, as well as logistics villages and transfer centers in Manisa and Izmir. Containers will be sent to Bandırma Port by train. Then the trains will arrive at Tekirdağ Port by ferry from the port. Within the scope of the project, the number of ferries will be between 4 and 6 depending on the need. Loads will be transported from here to the central European countries by rail. It will take 7 days for the cargo to be purchased from Manisa to reach Vienna. The cost will decrease by 55 percent compared to the highway. The delivery price of a container to buyers in Europe will decrease from 2 thousand 300 euros to 235 thousand euros. The cost of moving a refrigerator to Lyon will decrease from 30 euro to 19 euro.

Provide freight and distance advantage
The TCDD track, which is 122 kilometers from Manisa to Kapukule, will go down to 446 kilometers with BALO. Izmir will drop from 187 thousand to 562 kilometers, Bursa from 635 kilometers to 245 kilometers, Denizli will fall from 39 kilometers to 775 kilometers, and Eskişehir from 627 kilometers to 601 kilometers.
