Turkey's largest High Speed Train (YHT) line which continues the construction of the Ankara-Istanbul High Speed Train Line.
Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications Minister Binali Yildirim, Ankara-Istanbul YHT project will open in 2013 said.
"Hopefully, we will open the entire line in 2013 and connect Istanbul to Kocaeli, Sakarya, Ankara, Konya, Bursa, Sivas," said Yıldırım.
50 THOUSAND PASSENGER IN DAY
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony of the Ankara-Istanbul YHT Line Köseköy-Gebze section, General Director of TCDD Süleyman Karaman stated that the passenger potential between Ankara and Istanbul is 75 thousand per day and that they aim to carry a daily average of 50 thousand passengers when the line is put into service.
