Saudi Arabia Haramayn High Speed ​​​​Train Starts Operation in 2014

The Saudi Railways Organization (SRO) announced that the 450-kilometer Haramayn high-speed train project, which will connect the holy cities such as Jeddah, Mecca and Medina, will be put into service as of 2014.

The project will also connect the densely populated areas Landbridge and north-south line connecting with industrial zones and new economic cities. In this context, Jeddah City, Jeddah King Abdul Aziz International Airport and King Abdullah Economic City stations will be built.

Construction of the Haramayn high-speed train main station in Mecca is expected to cost more than $853.6 million. After the completion of the Haramayn high-speed train project, 150.000 daily passengers are expected to benefit from the line.
