Indian Railways prepare for co-operation with Deutsche Bahn

Indian Railways reached an agreement with German company Deutsche Bahn to develop the Indian Railway infrastructure. There was a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for cooperation between Indian Railways and DBAG, German Railways, valid from 2006 to 2009.

During a meeting of Indian Railway Minister Mukul Roy's visit to Germany, he announced that an agreement was reached with the German delegation. Focus areas as specified in the Indian Railways Vision-2020 document; The document pointed out that there is an ambitious plan about security improvement, modernization and capacity strengthening treatments. Other objectives were stated as the construction of high-speed train lines, raising the existing network, station development, special cargo corridors and logistics parks.
