TCDD Intermodal Terminals Köseköy.

The main task of the state is to ensure the peace of citizens. We know that social, economic, health, education and environment are included in this peace. Equally the second task of the state is to support the country's economy.

TCDD, the Republic of Turkey State Railways of our institution as a monopoly of railway transportation and handling, these two fundamental task has been undertaken. On the one hand, while carrying passengers in an economical, contemporary, fast, comfortable environment, it meets the transportation needs of its citizens. On the other hand, it has to support the economy by developing and spreading the railway freight transportation. About the last 8-10 has been entered into a restructuring study for this purpose. The private sector was given the opportunity to transport with its own wagon, the cargo monopoly was partially broken, the Railway Law was delivered to the parliament, the high-speed train lines were started to be constructed to serve the passengers, the motion office was renamed as the cargo office and an important special project was initiated.

Ğ Logistic Village çalış in the name of the first beginning is the work that we have revealed that these units are not logistic villages. The alan Logistics Centers ç project, which will create a handling area for the transportation of freight to the railroads, will combine the railway with the road, create an opportunity for intermodal transportation, create a number of different transportation points, and provide intermodal services on the loading and unloading of loads. The most important of these is the project in Köseköy, Kocaeli.

I have been working on a Logistics Master plan for the Kocaeli region and had the opportunity to follow the region very closely. Kocaeli is a region where large industry develops and grows in the East, and port services and related industries reach the saturation point in the West. Its north is mountainous and its south is surrounded by sea and mountains. The city has no choice but to grow east - west. The Köseköy Logistics Center is located close to the vehicle storage areas, close to the large production facilities, in a region where the city is most in need of railway. D is located on the 100 (E5) motorway, 500 m to the 1.500 m TEM motorway.

Köseköy Logistics Center is not a logistic village; However, 3.000 will be the center of rail freight consolidation for intermodal service center for a logistic village with a closed area of 1.000.000 m2. There will be no need to establish a railway terminal at this scale in a new logistics village to be established. Therefore, it is necessary to complete the Köseköy Logistics Center as soon as possible and to transfer the highway loads on the main arteries of Kocaeli to be blocked in a few years. Köseköy Logistics Center should also be connected by rail to the automobile factories that use railway like Ford- Otosan to a large extent and the string management should be done from this center.

The studies planned in Samsun, Mersin and İskenderun are in this parallel. There will be a logistic village and a rail logistics center system close to it. Kocaeli will work in the same logic frame. A great investment was made in Köseköy. It must be continued. The success of the Logistics Centers Project, which was initiated by TCDD with great difficulties, will only be ensured by the continuation of the project, not by taking back steps. TCDD Logistics Centers will not be a logistic village for our country but they will exist as the most important necessities of logistics villages.
