Infrastructure manager Banedanmark stated that there are 56 candidate companies for the tender for the first construction works of the 6 km Ringsted - København line in the west of the capital. While the design and construction work for the five bridges are aimed to be completed by mid-this year, the entire contract will be completed by the end of 2013.
The project aims to connect the electric double-track Roskilde line, designed for operation up to 250 km / h, with the north-south corridor connecting Sweden and Germany. The TSI-compliant mixed traffic route, which is expected to open at the end of 2018, is an important element of the Banedanmark strategic plan, which was approved by the government in 2010, to double the network capacity by 2020.
