Director General of the Iraqi Railways R. Yusuf Abbas, Turkey Wagon Industries Inc. (TÜVASAŞ) 'den, his project for the country of 14 wagons to the addition of 30 new wagons and diesel train set had requested.
Abbas visited TÜVASAŞ General Manager İbrahim Ertiryaki. Abbas, who also visited the factory, received information about 14 wagon projects for the Iraqi Railways and requested to add 30 new wagons to the agreement. Having shown great interest in the first domestic diesel train sets produced by TÜVASAŞ, Abbas asked for 6 series diesel train sets to be produced for the Iraqi Railways.
Emphasizing that the meeting is very beneficial for both parties, Abbas said, “TÜVASAŞ is a great production facility and it is a chance for Iraqi Railways that such a facility operates in our close neighbor. We are willing to make an agreement with TÜVASAŞ to add 14 more, and to import 30 series Diesel Train Sets, to 6 cars that will be produced by TÜVASAŞ. said.
TÜVASAŞ General Manager İbrahim Ertiryaki also stated that they can work with Iraqi Railways in new projects. Ertiryaki said: “I think that we have made a rapid progress in the project in a short time with the mutual trust relationship. It is seen that Iraqi Railways are also satisfied with this speed. We, as TÜVASAŞ, take care to evaluate the export opportunities for both the country and the city economy, and act to increase the market share of TÜVASAŞ. With our technological competence, knowledge and workforce potential, we are continuing our goal of becoming a 'world brand' in passenger car production. ”
