Binali Yıldırım, the Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, said that the High Speed Train (YHT) attracted great attention from the citizens, and brought Eskişehir tourism to its feet.
Minister Yıldırım came to Eskişehir and visited the Mayor of Odunpazarı Burhan Sakallı, whose grandmother passed away the previous day. Minister Yıldırım later visited the historical Odunpazarı and Atlıhan Bazaar with Mayor Sakallı. Facing with the warm interest of the citizens, Minister Yıldırım sohbet took a souvenir photo. Minister Yıldırım said that the High Speed Train had changed Eskişehir a lot and that it made a great contribution to the development of urban tourism.
Stating that people can easily come to Eskişehir thanks to the High Speed Train, Minister Yıldırım said, “I came to Eskişehir in 2002 as well. There is a terrible difference between that day and this day. There is a tremendous change. Odunpazarı with its houses. Meerschaum, glasswork and many arts stood up again in Eskişehir. Underlining that it will be possible to come to Eskişehir by High Speed Train from Istanbul as of 2014, as from Ankara, Minister Yıldırım said, “It is not a problem to come from Istanbul now. Because Bilecik ramps disappeared by the way we did. There were very nice roads. I would like to thank those who contributed to the renewal and attractiveness of Eskişehir with such new projects. ” he spoke.
Noting that the project for underground high-speed railroad underground project is continuing in Eskişehir, Yıldırım said, “The work of undergrounding the YHT road passing through Eskişehir will be completed in parallel with the Istanbul line.” spoke in the form.
