Rails Between Izmit and Gebze Are Dismantled

After the train services between Izmit and Gebze were stopped due to the High Speed Train (YHT) Project, the old rails were dismantled for the rail system suitable for high-speed trains. While the dismantling work is carried out between Gebze and Körfez districts at the first stage, the Derince-Köseköy line of the railway is currently only open to freight trains due to the transportation of materials from Derince Port.

The railway line between Kocaeli and Istanbul, which is the bridge that connects Istanbul to Anatolia, has been closed since February 122, due to the High Speed Train works after 1 years. In the first phase, the dismantling of the 56-kilometer Köseköy-Gebze line was started with construction equipment in order to make it suitable for the High Speed Train line.

Dozens of workers work in the dismantling work that started in Gebze and continues at the Kirazlıyalı Station of Körfez District. While the rails dismantled with the help of TCDD's machines are loaded onto the wagons, the concrete blocks and crushed stone on the ground are also transported by trucks.
