Due to the High Speed Train (YHT) Project, after the stop of the train service between İzmit and Gebze, the removal of the old rails has been started for the rail system which is suitable for the fast train. The first stage of the dismantling is carried out between Gebze and Körfez districts, while the Derince-Köseköy line of the railway is only open to freight trains due to the transportation of material from Derince Port.
The railway line between Istanbul and Kocaeli, which is the bridge between Istanbul and Anatolia, was closed after 122 year after 1 due to High Speed Train. In the first stage, dismantling of the rails in Köseköy-Gebze line of 56 with work machines was started in order to make it suitable for High Speed Train line.
Dozens of workers are working in the dismantling works which are started in Gebze and continue in Kirazliyalı Station of the Körfez District. TCDD 's work with the help of the machine is removed to the railroad rails, while the concrete blocks and gravels are also being transported by trucks.
