TCDD 2023 targets

It is planned that 2023 km of the YHT line will be built by 10000. The planned lines are as follows:

Bursa-Istanbul
Sivas and Erzurum-Kars

Kayseri-Ankara
Kayseri-Istanbul

Eskisehir-Antalya

YHT sets manufactured in Turkey will be provided.

Also 4000 km will be built on the new conventional railway.

There are five suburban projects. The majority of one is complete and is now working:
Marmaray (Istanbul)
Baskentray (Ankara)
İzban (İzmir) (Most of them are completed and now Ailağa-Menderes section is being operated, it will be extended to Selçuk and Ephesus in the future.)
Burban (Bursa)
Gaziray (Gaziantep)

The new stations are as follows. These stations; their surroundings will be filled with restaurants, shopping centers, hotels and cultural areas:

Restorations of historical stations and stations currently in the hands of TCDD will be made.

The share of the private sector in railway operations will be increased to 50%.

There will be no rail without electricity.

The existing lines will be renewed in order to increase the share of the railway in the transportation sector.

All level crossings will be controlled.

By 2023, the TCDD fleet will be made as follows:
74 high speed train set
350 diesel locomotives
230 pieces electric locomotives
500 pieces commuter set
350 pieces of DMU set
49000 freight cars
600 passenger cars

The amount of freight transported by rail will be 200 million tons per year.

Istanbul-Kapikule-Sofia, Istanbul-Kars-Tbilisi-Baku, Kavkaz-Samsun-Basra, Istanbul-Aleppo-Mecca, Istanbul-Aleppo-Cairo International transportation service will be developed.

Organized Industrial Zones and important production facilities will be hauled by railways for freight transportation or by rail + carriage or railway + maritime freight.

In order to improve the geometric conditions of the existing roads, the axle pressure on all lines will be increased to the minimum 22,5 ton.

Logistics centers will be developed and new logistics centers will be established.

The share of the private sector in the maintenance and production of towing and towing vehicles will be increased.

Turkey will complete the restructuring of Railways: Railway Transport Unit will be established within the Ministry of Transport, Railway Accident Research and Analysis Unit, Infrastructure unit TCDD, Turkey Rail business unit

Izmir port will be restructured as passenger and freight port. The number of passengers will increase 10 times, the amount of load 3 times.

An internationally accredited railway testing and certification center will be established with TÜBİTAK Railway Institute.
It will be ensured that the Turkish railway sub-industry will take part, develop and take an active role in the global railway sector.
Railway share will be increased to 10% in passenger transportation and 15% in cargo transportation.
Improvement of longitudinal slopes over 1000 with curves with a radius below 16 mm in the net will be completed.
