China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan Trans-Asian railway project begins

The construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project, which has been on the agenda for a long time, begins this year. The rail network that will connect China and Central Asia will cost about $ 2 billion.

Kyrgyzstan Prime Minister Ömürbek Babanov signed the project text on the railway. The project, the construction of which will begin this year, is expected to be completed in 2018. A total of 10 thousand people are expected to work in the construction of the railway.

The length of the road that will be established on the route of the historical Silk Road and will connect the three countries to each other 268 kilometers The 48 tunnel, 95 bridge and 4 station will be located on the itinerary. 3 thousand 500 people will be employed in the operation of the railway.

The task of following the project, which is strategically important for Kyrgyzstan and Central Asian countries, was given to Kyrgyzstan Deputy Prime Minister Aalı Karayev. With the completion of the railway, the transportation problem between Kyrgyzstan and China will be largely resolved.
