Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Kadir Topbaş announced the projects related to Istanbul in the 'Teketek' program broadcast on Habertürk Channel. According to the information given by Kadir Topbaş, the status of the investments to be made in Istanbul and the ongoing projects are as follows:
Feasibility studies continue for the location of the district with a population of 800 thousand to be built in the north of Istanbul. However, instead of 800, a district with a population of 600 thousand will be realized. The Prime Minister does not want tall buildings here. Half of the buildings to be built will be used for urban transformation. In other words, buildings that are not resistant to earthquakes will be demolished and their owners will be given flats. The new district with a capacity of 600 thousand will be built in the area where the coal mines are located in Kemerburgaz.
The new airport in Istanbul with an annual capacity of 150 million passengers will also be built in the same region. However, it will certainly not be made by filling the sea. This airport will be close to the new district. The connection road of the third bridge will pass through the south of this new district. There will also be a metro connected to the center.
- An airport with an annual capacity of 60 million will be built on the Anatolian side. However, this airport will not be close to the sea.
- A metro will be built in the area from Üsküdar to Ümraniye. This metro will be completed and put into service within 38 months.
- Work continues in Taksim to reduce the traffic underground. Taksim will be completely opened to pedestrian traffic.
- The metro line will extend to Etiler. The traffic on Nispetiye Street will thus be lightened. From Etiler to the Bosphorus, a connection will be established above ground in the form of a tube tunnel.
- Kadir Topbaş announced that 8 billion liras were invested in the 49 years he was in office.
- Dirty water no longer flows in Ayamama Creek. In the newly built facility in Ataköy, 400 thousand cubic meters of water is cleaned per day.
- Work continues for Kanal Istanbul. The Prime Minister himself is following.
- There was a delay in the metrobus works between Avcılar and Beylikdüzü. However, this line will be put into service within 6 months.
