Karadeniz Technical University (Ktü) Faculty of Engineering and Architecture Civil Engineering Department of Transportation Dr. Fazıl Çelik said that Erzincan-Gümüşhane-Trabzon and Erzincan-Gümüşhane-Tirebolu railway line projects, which were built by a special company by the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, were registered as not being made by the ministry.
Professor Dr. Fazıl Çelik stated that he wrote a letter to Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on December 25, 2011, at a press conference held at the Trabzon Journalists Association. Professor Dr. Çelik said, “In the letter, I stated that the 7 billion lira Trabzon-Erzincan Railway Project, which was built by a private company and presented in Trabzon, was extremely wrong, the country resources were wasted and feasible. After this letter, I sent two more letters to the Prime Minister and explained my alternative projects. ” Professor Dr. Çelik emphasized that his letters were answered after a 1.5-month break. Professor Dr. Çelik continued his words as follows:
“After summarizing the works made by the private company in the response letter, 'In all studies, feasibility studies were conducted according to mixed traffic for the transportation of cargo and passengers, and as a result, the Erzincan- Gümüşhane- Trabzon and Erzincan- Gümüşhane- Tirebolu lines were not feasible. In addition, as a result of the feasibility study conducted by ITU in 1983 and 1997, these lines were not feasible. As it is seen, finally, the project, which was built by a private company and presented in Trabzon, was nothing other than announcement, and it was registered that the route studied was not possible for the third time. The path of mind is one. He also goes through science. I believe in the power of science. He gained common sense. ”
