Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor Kadir Topbaş responded to the allegations of 'leaving politics'. Topbaş, on the question of AKŞAM on the subject, 'Our Prime Minister says or' mastery period '... My second period is ending. I probably want a period of mastership, 'he said. Explaining that he will complete his unfinished work and retire at the end of this process, Topbaş stated whether he has a target other than the mayor, saying: 'I have no ambition. I am not one of those who say 'I am ready for what my party assigned.' I don't take a stand in other positions. '
Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor Kadir Topbaş met with Çukurova Holding Chairman Mehmet Emin Karamehmet and Turkish Media executives at breakfast. Later, Topbaş explained the projects and works he realized during his term at the Metropolitan Municipality Promotion Center in Sütlüce with a cinevision show. Mayor Topbaş then toured the 1453 Panorama History Museum and introduced it. Topbaş said, 'Our priority is transportation. In the coming years, we will focus on the metro with all our strength. We care about the Levent - Hisarüstü rail system line. '

1- Levent-Asiyan will go down to 8 minutes

Three important projects and details of President Kadir Topbaş…
With the project, the residents of Istanbul will be able to go to the Bosphorus thanks to the 3 thousand 320 meters long, 5-station Levent-Hisar-top rail system and Aşiyan Funicular. The municipality made an official request regarding the transfer of the project construction, which is planned to take 2 years, to the Ministry of Transport. The project aims to relieve Etiler traffic, which includes the route of Boğaziçi University. 'Levent-Hisarüstü Rail System Line' will connect the region to the Istanbul Metro. According to the project, the funicular system to the Bosphorus will be built from the surface. Thus, the beach traffic will be relieved. Citizens will have the opportunity to easily reach the metro line from the beach.
Topbaş also wants to implement a similar project in the Ümraniye Altunizade line. Thus, in the area of Umraniye, the beach will reach the beach again in a funicular descent. It will be easier for those coming from the hills to come down to the shore and those on the hillside.

  • Hisarüstü-Aşiyan Park Funicular Line length 730 meters.
  • The height difference between the start and end stations is 104 meters.
  • The beach will be descended from the area of Aşiyan Park, which belongs to the Metropolitan Municipality.
  • When the project is realized, Istanbul residents will take the funicular from the coast and will go to Hisarüstü in 3 minutes.
  • Citizens will be able to reach Levent Metro station by transferring to 'Hisarüstü-Levent Mini Metro' in an integrated location.
  • The project, which will be integrated underground, will be connected to the surface with large elevators, fixed and escalators.
  • The mini metro, which will start with a 2-series train operation and will be able to reach the 3-series when the passengers increase in the future, will provide access to Levent from Hisarüstü in 5 minutes. Flights will be held every 4 minutes.

The Taksim Square pedestrianization project, where Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan also paid great attention, came to an end. Taksim Square project, one of the most important projects of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, was approved by the Board of Monuments last month. When the project is realized, the traffic in Taksim Square and the roads around AKM and Taksim Monument will be taken underground. All Taksim Square will be allocated to pedestrians. An underground vehicle road with a length of 131 meters will be built. Taksim Gezi Park and AKM front will be connected to İstiklal Avenue without any traffic. The studies are expected to take about 15 months. Thus, Taksim and Tarlabaşı Boulevard will be combined. Bus stops in the square will depart. Taksim Topçu Barracks, built in 1806 and demolished in 1939, will serve as a cultural center and art gallery. Gezi Park will be a green area again. Under it will be a multi-storey car park.

3- continue with Metrobus

The efforts to spread the metrobus, which serves the Avcılar-Edirnekapı and Söğütlüçeşme lines, which Istanbul residents use extensively and relax the traffic, continue. The Avcılar-Beylikdüzü line construction continues. Topbaş signaled that there may be other routes. It is stated that the metrobus can be passed through the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge if the request for travel is sufficient and the necessary permits are obtained from the General Directorate of Highways. Topbaş announced that the new lines are in the surveying stage. Currently, 40 kilometers and even 700 thousand passengers are carried. When the line extends to Beylikdüzü and reaches 50 kilometers, the capacity of 1 million passengers will be reached.

AKŞAM Editor in Chief İsmail Küçükkaya said, 'Complaints about Metrobus have increased recently. Especially in Beylikdüzü section, there are many problems. What are you going to do? 'Topbaş' Yes, and our contractor has a mistake. Sorry, we apologized. But such problems can occur when buying goods and services to the public. It stems from the tender legislation, but we are working hard on it, we will solve it '.
