WHO IS SULEYMAN KARAMAN?
He was born in Refahiye district of Erzincan in 1956. He completed his primary and high school education in Refahiye, where his primary school was born, in Istanbul. He graduated from Istanbul Technical University Mechanical Faculty in 1978. In 1981, he completed his master's degree at ITU Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and earned the title of "Mechanical Engineer" with a "good" degree.
1979-81; He took part in prototype studies and improvement activities and conformity tests for the first Turkish tractor and agricultural machinery produced by the private sector.
He completed his short term military service in the same period and started to work as an Assistant at ITU Mechanical Faculty in 1981. Until 1984, he taught technical drawing and machine knowledge courses as an Assistant Instructor in addition to his Doctorate studies.
Between 1984-1994, respectively, in the automotive supplier industry; He served as Assistant Business Manager, Business Manager, Assistant General Manager and Board Member. During his studies in this period, he participated in automotive industry fairs in Europe, in addition to the import substitution and localization studies of many automotive parts, and made studies on the subject.
In 1994, he was appointed as Deputy General Manager to Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality IETT (Istanbul Electricity, Tram and Tunnel Enterprises) General Directorate.
During his job at IETT; He signed the purchase of EURO 2 buses with bus advertisements, new modern stops, natural gas buses, AKBİL applications projects at IETT.
He made short term studies on various subjects in Europe and America. He participated in seminars such as Total Quality Management, Continuous Development, Synergistic Management. In addition, I. and II. He took part in the organization of the International Transportation Symposium and presented his paper.
Also during this period, ISBAK, the foundation of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, was a member of the Board of Directors of ISTON, ISMER and BELTUR and carried out various signaling projects in Istanbul.
While he has been working as the General Manager Advisor at IETT since 2001, he was appointed as the General Manager and Chairman of the Board of Directors of TCDD Enterprise with the Decree No. 7/2003 on 2002 January 3490. Karaman, who was dismissed in September 2004, was returned to his duty as the General Manager of TCDD on 8 July 2005 with a court decision.
