Effective snow in Istanbul slowed down vehicle traffic in the evening. Due to the late arrival of the buses, there was an accumulation at the stops. There was a long period of intensity at the metrobus stop in Avcılar in the evening. Citizens attacked the buses and minibuses coming to the station, while others tried to continue on their way with hitchhiking.
Due to heavy snowfall, E5 highway started to keep snow from Küçükçekmece Lake to Büyükçekmece direction in the evening. Vehicle traffic was paralyzed when the road was covered with snow. The slow progress of the vehicles also slowed public transportation. Citizens were victimized due to the traffic that also intensified at the transfer point at the last stop of the Metrobus Avcılar.
Traffic came to a halt due to snowfall on the roads and ongoing snowfall, and buses had difficulty reaching the stop. Late arrival of buses also caused a pile in the stop. Citizens waited for a long time at the station, which became crowded after 18.00, especially after the end of working hours.
Buses arriving late were reached by a group of citizens staying on the road. Buses that could reach the station were filled with tensions and there were occasional tensions between citizens who were on the bus.
Some of the citizens waiting for the bus under the snowfall tried to go on their way with hitchhiking. Some vehicle drivers also took their vehicles to help citizens waiting at the stop.
Citizens have long waited for a bus while some of the bus routes were changed. Due to heavy snow, buses continue on their way from main roads, which did not enter the intermediate routes.
