Haydarpasa Station is renewing, restoration will take two years

Due to the high-speed train works, all trains and commuter flights will be stopped at Haydarpaşa Train Station. The Ministry of Transport will fully restore the historical railway station. After two years of work, there will be a rooftop cafeteria and observation house, which is burning and temporarily covered with sheet metal. The other floors will be organized in the form of a museum, a shopping center and a garage.

The historical Haydarpaşa Train Station, one of the symbol venues of Istanbul, is entering a 2-year rest period. In the historical building, train services between Gebze and Köseköy will stop first at the end of January. During this period, suburban flights from Gebze to Haydarpaşa will continue. According to the project, train station manager Orhan Tatar says that suburban flights will be stopped after March. Tatar says that from this date until the end of 2013, restoration works will be carried out in the station. The renewed station is intended to lift the high-speed train capacity. Haydarpaşa Train Station, built during the reign of Abdülhamid II and opened in 2, was wounded by a fire last year. The roof collapsed due to the fire and the 1908th floor became unusable. History of Haydarpasa Train Station

Haydarpaşa Station was built in 1908 as the starting station of the Istanbul-Baghdad Railway line.
