Railway Letter from Giresun TSO

The railway project, which will contribute greatly to the economic development and development of the Eastern Black Sea Region, should be planned to cover the whole region as a whole.

Republic of Turkey Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications Ministry of Railways, Ports and Airports Construction Directorate General Directorate of Trabzon-Tirebolu-Gumushane-Erzincan Railway Project prepared Environmental Impact Assessment Report Giresun Chamber of Commerce and Industry R & D Unit was examined by. In this context, Giresun Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman Hasan Çakırmelikoğlu Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Giresun and Army deputies sent a written statement;

“After the railway project Gümüşhane Torul separation, it was divided into two branches, one to our district of Tirebolu and the other to Trabzon, and it was aimed to ensure that the railway was more active and operational by providing a connection to Trabzon and Trabzon Port.

In order for the railway to operate in a more functional manner, the height of passenger transport and load-bearing capacities is important, and from this point of view, it is necessary to make the route determination accordingly.

The port of Tirebolu (Fishing Port) is of great importance for our city. In addition to being a cruise port, 1959 will be more efficient in the port of Giresun with a loading capacity of 1.800.000. as a result of the promotion of the sea route connecting the railway network in Central Anatolia and Turkey both in terms of our region and is of great importance for Turkey. From this point of view, we think that the current Giresun Port is also inevitably involved in the railway network.

However, it is necessary to give the railway connection to the Ordu-Giresun Airport project, which is currently in the investment phase and which is the common ideal of the Ordu-Giresun provinces, to increase the capacity of freight and passengers, and to strengthen the transport infrastructure of the region in tourism.

In the future, the Samsun-Fatsa railway, which was previously planned by the General Directorate of State Railways, should be combined with this way and the Eastern Black Sea railway network should be completed.

The completion of the Eastern Black Sea Railway network as a whole and its inclusion in the international transportation network should not be considered separately from this project, and the Trabzon-Batum line should be considered in the project.

As a result, as stated above, the railway project, which will contribute to the economic development and development of the Eastern Black Sea Region, should be planned to cover the whole region as a whole.

Considering the developing tourism and maritime transport of the Eastern Black Sea Region, this planning is inevitable and necessary Doğu
