The first phase of the urban design competition, which was open to international participation, in order to obtain a project for the "Yenikapı Transfer Point and Archeopark Area", was concluded. Among the 42 projects that applied to the competition, the 9 teams that made it to the finals are listed as follows:

The finalists determined by the members of the Selection Committee on 30 November 2011, on the Twitter account of Yenikapı Urban Design Competition on 5 December; “Zaha Hadid; Eisenmen; KPF & Tangent; EAA; Tabanlioglu; Atelye70; SOLID; RMJM ”. Official results were announced on the contest's website on December 9 under the heading "Announcements".

Boğaziçi Construction Consulting Inc. (BİMTAŞ) and Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture Agency, “Yenikapı Transfer Point and Arkeopark Area signed by 22.10.2010 UM work; The Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture Agency expired and the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality was transferred to the Directorate of Projects and Projects Directorate. In the process, the Project was reorganized by the Administration.
During these changes, the project, which has been frozen since the date of 08.09.2011, has been re-activated on the official website, 17.10.2011 date, with the new regulations made by the Administration and the project applications have been accepted.
- The project applications were made between 17.10.2011 - 20.11.2011, and at the end of the process, the "42" multinational and multidisciplinary team applications were completed on the Project official website.
- Project applications were evaluated by the Project Working Board / Rapporteurs between 21.11.2011 - 27.11.2011. The Technical Working Board in Project Service Procurement made the necessary preliminary evaluations for the "42" project team applying to the Project.
- On Monday, the Selection Committee and the Technical Working Committee went to the Yenikapı Project Area and received information on the subject from the Istanbul Archaeological Museums in the Project Area, Istanbul University Faculty of Literature, Prehistory Department and IMM Directorate of Rail Systems.
- The members of the Selection Committee Dr. Süha ÖZKAN was unanimously elected as Chairman of the Board.
- Çok Team Structures / Team Portfolios and Design Approaches (Vision Reports) ”of the multi-national and multi-disciplinary team çok 28.11.2011 ki, which completed the application for the Yenikapı Project, was evaluated by the Selection Committee members on the dates of 30.11.2011izyon 42.
- 30.11.2011 On Wednesday, the Selection Committee members identified the Üy 9 eleri project team to be invited by voting through the projects they identified.
