A new high speed train project has been on the agenda for some time now. In the framework of the new high-speed train project, which is planned to be completed in all stages of 2009, new rail lines and high-speed rail tracks are laid.

Ankara - Istanbul High Speed Train Project

The project, which aims to make the travel time between Ankara and Istanbul shorter and more comfortable, aims to ensure that the railways, which meet the 10 of passenger transport, now meet the% 78 of passenger transportation.

This project includes the construction of a double-track railway, which is independent of the existing railway line between Ankara and Istanbul and which is capable of withstanding the high-speed, 250 km speed. In the 2004, the speed of the derailed train was only 110 per hour.

The project, which has a total length of 533 km, consists of 7 stages: Ankara - Sincan, Sincan - Esenkent, Esenkent - Eskişehir, Eskişehir - Inönü, İnönü - Vezirhan, Vezirhan - Köseköy and Köseköy - Gebze. The high-speed train line that ends in Gebze will be connected to Gebze by the Haydarpaşa-Gebze railway, which will turn into an underground metro within the scope of the Marmaray project, and from there to the European side through Marmaray. In addition, a high-speed train station will be built in Ankara as part of the project.
